How do you know when it is time to go?

Seriously?  How do you know when it is time to move on?  Is there a particular itch that occurs and we just need to become finely attuned to sensing it?

This is something I have been thinking about quite a bit lately.  For me, in years past, I know that i must always be challenged.  If I am not learning and trying to do new things, I feel stagnant.  Though, I can't always sense stagnation immediately.  Many times I find that I am more frequently frustrated; then upon introspection I find the clarity that I am, in fact, not frustrated with people around my or my job, but myself.

It is almost time.  I am in no way frustrated.  I LOVE my job, but I am a systems planner - and I there might be enough systems here.  I might have paved the roads that I came here to pave.  I could work at this school and never leave because I love it here.  I cherish the people and our mission.  I am glowingly proud of the work that the faculty has done.  But, I am not sure how much growing room there is for me here.

I will keep reading to learn.  I will keep finding new ways to support and grow educators.  Both of which will, in turn, grow me.  But what else?  What is my next journey?
